Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the process take?
Approximately 8–26 weeks, depending on the firm's response time and whether escalation to the Financial Ombudsman Service is needed.
What does it cost?
Nothing upfront. We operate on a no win, no fee basis. If your complaint is successful, our fee is 15–20% plus VAT of the amount recovered. We will confirm the exact percentage before you sign anything.
Do I need to use a claims management company?
No. You can complain directly to the firm for free, and then to the Financial Ombudsman Service for free. We will always explain this option to you. If the direct route is better for you, we will say so.
What documents do I need?
Ideally a suitability letter and proof of charges. However, we can often help you request these from the firm if you no longer have them.
Can you guarantee a result?
No. Every case is assessed on its own merits. We will give you an honest view of your prospects before we proceed, but we cannot guarantee any outcome.
